The PHASE Recruitment Process.
Here at PHASE, young people are at the heart of everything we do, whether it is planning events, developing idea’s or even recruiting new team members!
We have recently gained a new member to our team. We would like you to meet Sophie!
Sophie is our new employability support worker. Sophie came through our unique recruitment process in which our young people are part of the interview panel. This not only gives our young people employability skills in a professional, formal environment. It also allows us to recruit staff on their core values and their desire to work with young people!
Sophie found the recruitment process very insightful:
‘The panel of young people during my interview allowed me to gage an insight as to what they needed and wanted from a new employability support worker. This was a useful thing for me to draw on once I started in my new role as I had an idea of the different levels of support that our young people needed, as each young person is different.’
Young person Natasha also had these good words to say about the recruitment process:
‘I like that we have an input. I also like that we have a say in who works with us. It’s nice to know that our opinion matters. It’s also really good because it has built my confidence up, I wouldn’t normally speak to people I don’t know, but the interview process has boosted my confidence with speaking to new people’.
All in all we are proud of the results we receive from this process. It’s a fantastic way for our young people to gain skills in recruitment.
